Detroit 911 Dispatcher Terri Sutton has charges dropped36th District Court Judge Paula Humphries dropped charges against Detroit 911 Operator Terri Sutton yesterday after a request to do so by Sutton's attorney David Lee before he began his arguments in defense of Sutton.

According to the Detroit Free Press, Humphries said in regards to Sutton's actions, "Does rudeness equate to willful neglect? Having heard the tapes, I believe the operator may have been rude, but I don't see enough evidence for willful neglect."

The case against co-defendant and fellow former Detroit 911 Operator Sharon Nichols will go forward. Nichols is charged with the same crime that Sutton was, willful neglect of duty.
