Rapist Foiled by iPod Charger

A Staten Island New York woman recently defeated a serial rapist using an Ipod Charger.

According to the Staten Island Advance, 23-year-old Thomas Fields, who has two previous convictions for rape and was released just a year ago from prison, approached a young lady who was walking home from a friends house.

Fields then grabbed the woman in a choke hold and dragged her behind a church. The woman was able to fight back against Fields by stabbing him repeatedly in the neck with an iPod charger (pictured at left).

Fields got away from the scene, but was recently picked up by authorities on a tip. Fields was picked out of a lineup by the victim which might not have been terribly difficult since he still bore the twin bruises from the iPod charger being jammed into his neck.

Take whatever you want...except my laptop

In other news, a law student at Arizona State University Alex Botsios was awakened recently by a baseball bat wielding robber who snuck in through an open window.

Alex said he was more than willing to part with his wallet and guitars, but when the robber, Gabriel Saucedo, went for Alex's laptop and the four months of course work inside he went too far.

"I was like, 'Dude, no -- please, no!" Botsios said. "I have all my case notes…that's four months of work!"

"I basically grabbed him and threw him this way, and he held onto the bat so it threw him to the ground," Bostios told KTAR.com.

Police said they took Saucedo to the hospital for stitches before they arrested him on charges of armed robbery and kidnapping. Other than a bruised knuckle and a few scratches, Botsios was unharmed.

"It's my baby," Bostios said. "Don't mess with my computer."
