DSAM is a registered not-for-profit corporation, founded in 1978. DSAM is a bi-partisan legislative lobbying and training organization dedicated to improving the professional careers and working conditions of our members.

We have successfully monitored legislation to ensure only quality law enforcement and corrections legislation is passed, making Michigan a safer place to live, and making sheriff’s departments a better place to work. DSAM is not a labor organization that engages in the collective bargaining process.
